Verdejo “Vurr-day-ho”. Hard to pronounce – easy to drink. Likely the most amazing, underrated, generally unknown white variety in the New World. Darling of the hot, dry, plateau of north central Spain, Verdejo dominates the region of Rueda, along the Duero River. At 700m of elevation, the days are hot, but the nights get cold. This allows the fruit to develop slowly and build complexity. Picked on Sep 10th by hand in 17kg crates.

Hand pressed and fermented over 2 weeks in new French oak barrels. Aged in the same barrels for 12 months before blending, filtering and hand bottling. We love this wine. It is all about texture and the time in oak gives it so much complexity. Hints of lime and citrus with just a touch of acidity allows it to play nice with light salads and seafoods, but the full body and long finish, complement rich dishes like pork belly or creamy pastas. Either way, we think it's bloody delicious.
