2013 The Investigator
After the previous year’s ideal conditions, the vines were full of potential, producing one of our largest harvests in 2013. The weather provided warm initial conditions cooling down towards the end of veraison. Selective hand-picking during vintage ensured use of only the most concentrated grapes. The introduction of barrel fermentation allowed us to bring our flagship wine to the next level of refinement.
Our 2013 vintage is quite different from previous vintages, with bolder flavours and extremely refined tannins with lots of sweetness. Given its style and structure, we expect this wine to drink well for the next 15+ years.

Tasting Notes
A fragrant dark-berry bouquet with spice to the fore; the most striking aspect of the palate is the fine, yet firm, tannins woven throughout; most would guess an Old World origin, the fruit just part of a much bigger whole. Lovely sophisticated wine (and a perfect cork).
